Grateful Weekend

Grateful weekend

This weekend was a bit busy, as usual. Papa was getting ready for an exam on Sunday, and he had his usual classes on Saturday, too. So, I spent most of my time with our little boy. But whenever we get a chance, we try to go out and make the most of our weekends because our weekdays are always packed.

Parenthood has changed both my husband and me so much. Our lives are totally different now, and we have to accept that change in a positive way, even when we are both super busy. Life is not as free as it used to be, but we are slowly finding our own way to enjoy these little moments together.

On Saturday, we went to see the autumn festival in our village, we called as Aki Matsuri (秋祭り) in Japanese. It is an event with songs, dances, and food. Our little boy was a bit afraid at first, but as time passed, he seemed to get more comfortable with the atmosphere. We couldn’t stay out for too long, though, because Papa had to get ready for his next class.

And then, as usual, dinner was served by me! This time, too, I prepared something healthy and light for our little family. Simple dinners have become part of our everyday life, and I actually enjoy finding ways to make our dinner table a little better, even on our busiest days. Read here and here.

The Family

Sunday was a very sunny day, but I had a heap of household chores to do. Papa went for his exam, and later, we all went out together.

Influenza is spreading in Japan these days, and thanks to our little boy’s hoikuen (保育園), we seem to be getting all sorts of viruses, flu, coughs, sneezes, and everything else almost every month. Hahaha! That’s one of the little surprises of having a child in daycare, I guess! So, we took Hithesh to get checked because he still had a lingering cough.

Evenings are getting colder now, and the days are getting shorter, too. It starts getting dark around 4:30 in the afternoon, and I can really feel that autumn is moving along.

But I had another little plan in mind. I wanted to add some Halloween decorations to our home, preferably on a low budget. I love the idea of doing simple crafts with our little boy, letting him explore, touch things, and enjoy the process with me. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or expensive. Sometimes, the simplest little activities make the sweetest memories.

So, we decided to visit DAISO to pick up a few things for our Halloween decorations. Here are some pictures of what I found. 🎃
