Gardening Lesson 2026
There’s something quietly magical about planting a seed and watching it grow, simply gardening. This season, I planted more than ever before—beans, tomatoes, lady fingers, pumpkin, and melon. What started as a small gardening effort has slowly turned into something much deeper, almost like stepping into my own little wonderland.

Back in Sri Lanka, my life felt like a constant rush—work, deadlines, responsibilities. I was always busy, yet somehow never felt truly present. Now, even though I’m still doing a lot, life feels different. I have space. Not just physical space for plants, but mental space to breathe, to slow down, and to reconnect with something real.
In fact, here’s a kind of peace in touching the soil, in watering plants early in the morning, in noticing the smallest new leaf appear. It’s a reminder that growth takes time, patience, and care—something we often forget in our fast-paced lives. Away to practise mindfulness, isn’t it?

More than anything, gardening has taught me an unexpected lesson about priorities. If you truly want something, you will find a way to make time for it. No matter how busy life gets, what matters most is what you choose to nurture. For me, right now, it’s this little green space that brings me back to myself.
Being close to nature has a way of softening everything. It relaxes the mind, grounds the heart, and offers a kind of joy that nothing else really replaces. It’s simple, but it’s powerful.
I’m just at the beginning of this journey, and I hope to grow even more in the coming days—not just plants, but this feeling of balance and contentment. Sometimes, getting your life back doesn’t mean making big changes. Sometimes, it just starts with planting a seed.
