Beautiful things I saw lately

Beautiful things.

Lately, I’ve been noticing the quiet beauty in the small corners of my everyday life. If you love to see, here it is.

It’s in the flowers I stop to photograph — soft petals opening patiently, as if they have all the time in the world.

Beautiful things

With the Sinhala and Hindu New Year approaching, my days are busy with preparation. There’s something so comforting about these traditions — cleaning, cooking, planning, and adding little touches to make everything feel special. The smell of homemade sweets, the sound of laughter in the kitchen, the feeling of togetherness — these are the things that truly make a celebration.

Here is Sri Lankan traditional “Welithalapa” I prepared this in a different way, because there it is hard for us to find original ingredients that used for such sweets. But somehow I managed to do it. I am so proud myself!

And my husband helped me lot in preparing, “Kokis” Sri Lankan traditional sweet. Tis how we prepare kokis. Soaking the mould in to the batter we made.

My plants are growing too, slowly but surely. Every new leaf feels like a small victory. Caring for them reminds me to be patient, to nurture, and to appreciate progress, even when it’s quiet and unseen. I have a plan to expand my gardening bit more with more vegetables and flowers.

Beautiful things

Life as a mom keeps me busy in ways I never imagined. Some days are full and tiring, but even in the middle of it all, I try not to miss what really matters. I make time to fill our home with love, with laughter, and with good food made from the heart. My foods add colours to my family, that is all I want everyday.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about perfection — it’s about the warmth we create for each other.

These beautiful photos were taken while walking, the sun-rays through the golden clouds was magnificent. t’s in the sunsets that paint the sky in colors I could never quite describe, no matter how many pictures I take. Still, I try, because I want to remember how those moments felt.

See the flowers, Even a box of coloured pencils doesn’t hold colours as beautiful as these.

Yesterday we had a fried chicken from FamilyMart. Bilieve me, the presentation was so beautiful and eye catching.

These are the beautiful things I’ve been seeing lately. Not grand or extraordinary, but real, simple, and full of life.
