I know the title The Den of Energy: Japanese white sponge “TOFU”, is a bit of a clickbait.

But forgive me; I have to say so. To be honest, I am not a big fan of tofu earlier. However, several cookbooks and the internet taught me how to prepare this flavorless white sponge in various ways.

As a person who came from a place where spicy foods are a staple, I honestly do not consider tofu to be on my list. But regarding the “nourishment,” tofu cannot be easily neglected. I am stressing the truth: “We are not a tofu-friendly fam,” basically. In a family of four or five, inevitably, one decides to hate whatever others love. So, the one who dealing with the cooking (most probably mom) needs to be more wise.

In my case, my inborn talent for turning disliked tastes and dishes into favorite dishes never goes out of fashion. (most probably, this came from my mother) Hahaha!! Once, I had a tofu-based side dish for the dinner. Everyone fell in love with it.

So here are some tips and thoughts about Tofu.

The common complaint that comes along with Tofu is the texture. Yes, it is based on personal opinion, and many love the texture that is firm, crispy, and crunchy. and if you want, Tofu too can be baked, marinated, scrambled, fried, and sauteed. it can do it all. If you are a vegan, tofu will be your best option always.

The seasoning methods will put you on the right track. Avacado oil, sesame oil, lemon juice, dried oregano, garlic powder, and hot paprika will be great seasoning condiments. You can try the combinations of your choice.

I do not know whether you have heard of the Japanese tradition called “ichijuu” which means one soup and three dishes (one includes white Japanese sticky rice) This formula is so great, light, and well-balanced. Most of the time, tofu comes as a side dish, or if not it is included in famous miso soup.

Japan has managed to develop without a high obesity rate. It is a fantastic factor. And you will be a witness once you set foot in Japan. It is all because of these foods that they use daily.

If you are dealing with many salad bowls, beans, veggies, and grains, you can give a try to Tofu too.
