All Time Favorites
Feeding a baby is a journey full of small discoveries. Some days they refuse everything, and other days they surprise you by loving the simplest foods. I was totally confused by this at first, but over time I realized that babies don’t need complicated recipes. They enjoy fresh, simple, nourishing food made with love. Believe me, Hithesh loves white rice alone sometimes!
These are a few of the foods that have become everyday favorites in our home. They are easy to prepare, full of nutrition, and most importantly, my baby happily eats them. However, finding babies’ all-time favorites is so relaxing as a mom!
Sesame, Banana, Milk & Dates Smoothie
One of my favorite quick recipes is a simple sesame, banana, milk, and dates blend. It’s naturally sweet, creamy, and packed with nutrients.
To prepare it, I blend:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 teaspoon roasted sesame seeds
- 1–2 soft dates (pitted)
- A small cup of warm milk
The result is a smooth, naturally sweet drink that babies love. Bananas add creaminess and potassium, dates provide natural sweetness and iron, and sesame seeds are rich in calcium and healthy fats. It’s a perfect energy booster, especially in the morning or as an afternoon snack.
Sometimes I make it slightly thicker so it can be eaten with a spoon. Babies often enjoy exploring textures, and this smoothie works well either way.

Curd and Yogurt: Simple but Powerful
Curd and yogurt are staples in many traditional kitchens, and they are wonderful foods for babies as well.
They are gentle on the stomach and full of probiotics that support digestion and gut health. On warm days, a small bowl of plain yogurt can be refreshing and soothing.
Sometimes I mix yogurt with mashed fruits like banana or steamed apple. Other days I simply serve it plain. Babies often enjoy the mild sour taste once they get used to it.
Pumpkin Soup: Sweet, Warm Comfort
Pumpkin soup is one of the easiest baby-friendly soups to prepare, and its natural sweetness makes it very appealing.
I usually steam small pumpkin cubes until they are soft, then blend them with a little warm water or milk. Sometimes I add a tiny bit of garlic or onion while cooking for extra flavor.
The soup becomes smooth, bright, and comforting. Pumpkin is rich in vitamin A, which supports eye health and immunity — something every parent appreciates.
On cooler days, this soup feels like a warm hug in a bowl.

Broccoli and Potato Soup
Broccoli is a very nutritious vegetable, but many babies initially hesitate to eat it because of its slightly strong taste. I discovered that combining it with potato makes a big difference.
To prepare this soup, I cook:
- A small potato
- A few broccoli florets
Once soft, I blend them with warm water or milk. The potato makes the texture creamy and soft, while broccoli adds vitamins, fiber, and minerals. As well, I add some garlic too.
This combination turns broccoli into a much more baby-friendly dish. It’s a simple way to introduce green vegetables without overwhelming little taste buds.

Peanuts: My Baby’s All-Time Favorite
Peanuts are probably my baby’s absolute favorite food. Whenever peanuts appear, excitement follows!
Of course, for babies they must always be served safely. Instead of whole peanuts, I grind them into a fine powder or mix smooth peanut paste with warm foods like porridge, mashed banana, or yogurt.
Peanuts are packed with protein, healthy fats, and energy, making them a great addition to a baby’s diet. A small amount can make meals more satisfying and flavorful.
And honestly, seeing my baby enjoy peanuts so much always makes me smile.

Food Made with Love
What I’ve learned most during this journey is that baby food doesn’t have to be complicated. Simple ingredients — bananas, pumpkin, yogurt, peanuts, vegetables — can become delicious meals with just a little creativity.
More than anything, babies respond to the care we put into their food. Sitting together, offering small spoonfuls, and watching their reactions makes me appreciate these small moments even more.
Every meal becomes a tiny memory in the story of growing up.
And sometimes, the simplest foods become their biggest favorites.
What are your baby’s all-time favorites?
