How do you feel love and gratitude?
Life on this earth is amazing. One might think that self-sufficiency is the best thing one can ever have, yes, it is good, but practically, are you able to go through? As an example, the plate in front of your dining table is a wonderful result of a collective agreement. The book on your hand is a result of the cooperation of many men and women.
Anything we consume is a great achivement of a group. In that sense, yet truly none of us can survive our own.
I truly understood the importance of helping and supporting each other when I was pregnant. Living abroad without no one in your family is a great pain, things get more worse when you are pregnant and having a great craving for home-cooked Sri Lankan dishes. I had food in pantries and refrigerator, money in my pocket—everything at arm’s length. But I was just lifeless and like a floating ghost. I smelled the kitchen like a shit. Our bed was the only comforting place for me in my first semester. I always wanted authentic Sri Lankan foods. My loving husband drove miles away in search of Sri Lankan foods, but sometimes, nothing satsfied me.
Lately, one of my husband’s friends’ wives offered me lots home made foods, I was in heaven. It was life-saving for me at that time. Truly, the foods were tokens of love and gratitude.

When she get prregnant, I offered her what I can.

Life is a journey, and this journey becomes beautiful when we offer a helping hand to the people around us. Everyone in this world is struggling with different kinds of challenges. No one knows what is going on in another person’s mind — someone might be suffering from a grave illness, another might be dealing with the loss of a beloved child, and someone else might be struggling with a financial crisis. We never truly know what others are going through, but every individual is dealing with something unseen.
All we need is a comforting, warm relationship with each other.
There are hundreds of civil wars happening on this earth. People are being killed and punished even at this very moment as we speak. How cruel the world can be. Indeed, one individual can not change the whole burning world. But each one of us can do one thing. A single good act, a single kind word, can do a lot. Certainly a lot.
