Things I saw in HKIA

HKIA

How is/was your experience in HKIA?

the end of last month, suddenly we had to travel Sri Lanka. It was a really quick decision and till 6pm of 28th of Friday, I was not pretty sure about my travel with our baby boy because his passport was not ready for travel. My husband returned from work early and headed Sri Lankan Embassy in, Tokyo for a temporary one. Luckily, we could obtain a temporary on behalf of our baby boy. Thanks to his courage and hard working, all of us could travel Sri Lanka for the first time.

Our very first Sri Lankan visit, with our baby boy, was not a happy and relaxing one because my husband’s father was seriously ill. So, sadly, opportunities for leisure were limited as the majority of our time was devoted to commuting between the residence and the hospital. We all really wanted a relax and a change.

So, I mainly decided on connecting flights. Accordingly, we booked our flight, which was scheduled to have a stopover at HKIA.

So, we departed from Katunayake, Sri Lanka, to Hong Kong. The flight was about 1.15 am from Katunayake. Our flight was Cathay Pacific. After 5 hours and 40 minutes, we reached Hong Kong International Airport.

We had only about 1hr 30 minutes for the next flight. Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is a well-known global aviation hub. Inside the airport, it is a passenger-friendly and modern one. Certainly, the interior designs are fascinating, and I was fully amused. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time for an excellent observation.

These designs are truly amazing.

We did some diaper changing for our baby boy and rushed for the next flight, from Hong Kong to Tokyo. Cathay Pacific served lunch for us, which was a typical Asian-inspired meal. Since we have been having Japanese food, the menu was fine. The meal was heavy, so I could not empty the blueberry ice tub. The beverage selection also good. Wine, spirits and non-alchoholic.. We both had milk coffee. Coffee is the best for a tiresome day.

Food was fine. I loved it.

Of course, the area surrounding it is truly amazing and fascinating. The scenic mountains and lush greenery were an apple of my eye. Despite being a major transportation hub, the calm and visually appealing surroundings are so good. The Airport scene felt like walking through a misty greenery village. I determined and thanked myself for choosing a connecting flight. The only worry was, we were in a tide schedule.

How about you? Any pros and cons you have/had at HKIA? Love to hear from you.
