14-Month-Old Eats in a Day.
Wait, before reading just let me know, are you a parent searching for what to feed a 14-month-old?
I know your true feelings. You’re not alone.
I often found myself Googling toddler meal ideas, or go in to tiktok ideas. So, I decided to share what my own baby eats in a typical day. This is not a strict meal plan — just a realistic, simple routine that works for our family.
Morning Breakfast for My 14-Month-Old
Most mornings, we keep breakfast easy and nutritious:
- Rice Balls made out of chicken, salmon, broccoli…
- Yoghurt (plain or lightly sweetened)
- Ground Peanut, not peanut butter.
- Banana (mashed or cut into small pieces)
This breakfast is rich in healthy fats and energy, perfect for an active toddler.

Lunch Ideas for a 14-Month-Old
For lunch, I aim for something filling and balanced:
- Chicken (boiled or steamed and shredded)
- Rice or noodles
- Steamed vegetables like carrot, pumpkin, broccoli, or beans
- Cheese slice
I avoid heavy spices and focus on soft textures that are easy to chew and swallow. But there are times he does not take such a menu; on a day like that, I prepare potato, broccoli soup, or egg soup, which he loves most, or pancakes with banana and dates.

Afternoon Snacks
Snacks are usually simple and repetitive — and that’s okay:
- Fruit (banana, apple, pear)
- Yoghurt
- Slice of bread with butter
Sometimes my baby just wants what I’m eating, and I’ve learned that shared meals encourage better eating habits. So I feed what I eat sometimes.
Dinner for Toddlers
Dinner looks similar to lunch but in smaller portions:
- Chicken or egg
- Rice or mashed potatoes
- Vegetables
- Avocado, Blueberries

If dinner is skipped or barely touched, I don’t panic. Toddlers often eat in phases. But most of the time he loves his dinner, because we all three have dinner at once. He enjoys this moment well.
What I’ve Learned About Feeding a 14-Month-Old
- Some days they eat a lot, some days very little.
- Repeating foods like banana and yoghurt is completely normal.
- The goal is variety over the week, not perfection every meal.
Final Thoughts
Feeding a toddler doesn’t need to be complicated. For me, it’s about:
- Keeping meals simple
- Offering healthy options
- And staying flexible

Every child is different, but I hope this gives you a realistic idea of a 14-month-old’s daily diet without pressure or guilt. Truly, I felt guilty when he was not eating his meals,
But it is my husband who always encourages me. He says that every child is different and that I am doing a great job. His only advice is to feed him fresh, organic food as much as possible—that is all we want for now.
