This is my story of Weaning My Baba Boy.
As a mom of a teeny tiny human soul, I am earning so much of experience day by day. Since the day one, with the official announcement of his arrival, as a woman I experienced a lot. The first quarter of my pregnancy, was the hardest in my life, next blooming three months and the last exciting three months, all brought different experience. When he came out of his dark, warm den, life became more different. Now it has been six months. Time flies and sweet little bunny is growing day by day.
So, the time has arrived to wean him. I am pretty sure this is going to be super exciting, and I feel a bit nervous. Last week we attended the weaning class, held by the local government. A great seminar with a practical demonstration. I learned a lot. It was a gradual introduction to solid foods, such as “okayu” お粥 (porridge), and the variety increased gradually.
We got lots of leaflets with more details, one of the most attractive thing I love to see in Japan is the presentation, whatever they present it is truly eye catching. Normally, a set of document carry small black dark letters without a single picture in it. Don’t you feel boring with such stuff? But what they offered us was other way round as, so I read everything with the support of google translator, actually without being bored.
This is the first day of his weaning. I prepared the rice porridge, adding sufficient warm water.
Here’s how I made, okayu” お粥 (porridge)
First, I thoroughly washed a small amount of rice and put it in a pot. I added just enough water to cover the rice, then cooked it on low heat. Once the rice was cooked, I strained out the water, took the rice out. and mashed it well, then added warm water little by little until the porridge reached a nice, thick consistency. One spoon per day, then you can increase the number of spoons, and we can add vegetables like tofu, fish, too. The next day, I added a slice of carrot to the rice porridge. The most important thing to remember is to mash everything well during the first few days.

They had exhibited each piece of information in a nice way. It was eye-catching and easy to understand.

How about your Baby’s weaning? How did you feel first day of weaning?
