What do you carry inside your bag?

What is inside your bag? Have you ever thought on this deeply?

We use different bag types for different purposes most of the time. Travel bags, school bags, handbags, crossbody bags, shoulder bags or handbags, etc. We use different kinds of things in each pace of our lives, and it is a dramatic change.

While I was in university, apart from all the notes, I used to carry a small stainless steel thermos filled with ginger tea and snacks. It was a great relief. Hot ginger tea after a heavy lecture session was perfect. The Corona pandemic urged us to put additional items into our handbags, including hand sanitizers and woven masks.

I usually carry a big bag whenever I go outside. Most of my bags are big. However, the “big bags” create a bit of fuss while traveling during rush hours on public transport. But here in Japan, my experience is different. People do travel with luggage on trains. It is a common scene and no one wonders.

Let’s peep into my everyday handbag…

Whatever the type, what will be the frequently used items in your bag? What does the inside of your everyday bag look like?

Here are some items that I can’t function without my wallet, an extra mini wallet for coins, smartphone, foldable umbrella, book, notebook, pen, iPod, power bank, iPad (not all the time but most of the time) water bottle, and a small cosmetic pouch. The cosmetic pouch includes just a comb, a must for my disobedient hair, tissues, hair tie and hair clip, sunglass, lip balm, cream, and some random season-related items. I am using OMI Menturm lip balm a clear colour gloss and it works so well in winter.

In Sri Lanka, there are no seasonal changes except for rain. But now, I am using season-related items that are strange to my handbag.

Some might wonder why my cosmetic pouch is this light; the answer is so simple because heavy makeup is out of my interest) I am a little resentful that the general society does not hesitate to accept male faces with all flaws and expects women to be flawless. Hahaha!! But I admire women with beautiful makeup. They are so elegant.

Apart from that, other emergency kits include some bandaids, a few grocery bags, and sanitary pads. I prefer a bag completely lined with pockets and a few more compartments. So, I do not want to dig in an emergency; everything is well packed separately. Easy and time-saving.

I do not know how people downsize their bags; it is not an easy task at all. However, there are my friends who carry a few things in their hands, and they manage well.

The mild annoying…

However, I have been mildly annoyed about the fact that the weight I am carrying slips off my shoulder. So I am dealing with constant repositioning and adjusting, hahaha!!! This is frequent when I am wearing my winter jacket. It’s slippery and slows me down, but I am sure I can’t get rid of carrying a big bag. Because I feel secure when I am fully prepared, and I am a chronic heavy packer.

How about you? Are you a light packer, a heavy packer, or somewhere between things?
