How do you enjoy the laundry stuff?

How do you enjoy the laundry stuff? Dealing with laundry is one of the most prominent tasks in the house.

I am pretty sure answers will spread in a wide range of scope. Here are some thoughts on laundry stuff here and there. From washing to folding.

Shall we find a way to do it happier?

Yes. It is a necessary, not a choice at all. We all wear, so washing, cleaning, and dealing with it is a must. I know it is not an easy task for a big family with two or three kids. You will have to pay extra attention to laundry stuff. When it is a rainy day, you know how hard!!

We use coin laundry when it comes to washing curtains and futon mattresses. We go to the coin laundry after 9 pm most of the time because that time of the day is relaxing. Calm and quiet, not crowded at all. While washing and drying is completed we spend there with a little chit-chat. I am so glad that the coin laundry is within walking distance. So we benefit from an evening walk too. I am saying this is kind of “hitting two birds with one stone.” Hahahaa!!!

When you are done with laundry, you get the feeling of organizing, cleanness, and tidiness altogether. That feeling of “Hmmh.. I am mentally fine now.” You are turning a heap of dirty stuff into a neat one. In a jiffy, you are creating a sound environment. The thrill of the laundry!!

And one awesome thing that can be memorized is, “Oh, I am fine now. In my childhood, I had no washer or dryer. It was an hour-consuming process with cold water. An endless process of soap, wring, soaking, and soap again and then carrying all washed with a big basket, then hanging it one by one with clothing pins in the cloth line. After hours checking if they were dry.” Now you are saving both time and labour. Happy now?

you can squeeze this feeling if you are not dealing with the dryer. Have you gained the smell of clothes drying in the sunshine? Such a warm! It feels so natural.

Next, the ironing and folding. I am pretty concerned about this. You might laugh at me probably. To tell the truth, I am in a kind of mindfulness in this whole process of sorting and ironing. Hahaha!! Which one to which basket? Is this cotton or wool? Will this temperature go well with this? Once I am sorting the temperature stuff, I listen to my favorite playlist or podcast. Time flies without knowing. I am benefitting.

But I know pretty sure that if you are trying to motivate your kids for this process, new methods will have to find out. To make things easier, my personal experience is combining boring chores with loving activities. You can try this with little kids. “from boring to scoring,” Earn something while doing your boring task. This is always working for me. Just give it a try.

What would you add? How do you engage with your laundry delightfully?
