First, I would like to let you know that I am not 100% minimalist. When things go differently, sometimes you might be upset, that is so normal and natural. But the life technique of adapting to the environment, teaches you “the survival of the fittest“, one of the most admirable teachings on this planet.
When in Sri Lanka, we used a considerable size refrigerator. It was essential for a family with four or five members. Once I set foot in Japan, things changed easily with many changes. All these downsized things reminded my life in my boarding place!! Less cleaning, less storing, and everything at arm’s length, the little space made things easier and saved me money and time.
However, I felt my life was getting smaller (haha)
My story on “mini fridge” is teaching me the same story repeatedly. Everything you need to store for a week is inside this little compact thing. sometimes, I wonder how is this little guy holding such a load (haha). The most wonderful thing is this little cooling box makes me happy, keeping inside so refreshing. No rotten, forgotten, or expired stuff. A positive approach to zero-waste life!!
So this tiny thing,
Asked me not to keep so many frozen items for days.
Save your money; you have enough stuff in your hand.
Eat healthy, and use more fresh things. greeneries, seasonal fruits, etc…
Shop wisely!!
It is interesting to shop weekly. We both go on foot, talking, laughing, and joking to the supermarket. It is something I am waiting for. A good break and therapy for Friday evening. I try for a new snack every week, and we have it while walking. I am so loving with that part of my life. Free talks and healthy evenings all because of my mini fridge!!
So, living with a teeny tiny fridge is not as bad as I thought earlier. Every moment restarts our lives differently and paves the way for interesting experiences. How about your experience? Any worries with the mini fridge?
But I have to tell you that I will have to look for a full-size thing in due course since there is going to be one extra mouth to feed!! (hehe)
