Comparing yourself with someone’s timeline?

Compare and contrast, sounds familiar to us. “comparing yourself” plays a major role in human life. We all have done this at least once in our lifetime, right? Most of our life stories flow with comparing.

Have you ever revisited your mind while “comparing yourself”? We hardly revisit, instead of that we continue comparing. Then sob, think of it, build up imaginations, and a lot more, such a long process is happening inside our mind even without our knowledge. Just a single moment of some other life, makes you discomfort, spoils your mind, and makes things worse. How sad the situation is.

Sometimes, you are not doing it intentionally, it happens. But you can “revisit” yourself.

Two Questions to be asked yourself

Are we really doing this?

Why should we do this?

Most of us have no clear-cut answers to this. But we still stick to “comparing.” Comparing can do one thing, “killing one’s potential.” You waste your energy to worry about someone else. This third person might be someone unknown to you. You just see a part of his life., then you take it as a whole and start “comparing.” This kills us little by little. You lose your time, energy, and feelings above all, self-confidence.

What helped me to get rid of comparing myself with others?

A long time ago, I had a discussion with one of my friends about this. It was a time of nagging in our lives. When things are not on track, we used to watch someone else timeline and keep comparing. But by the time I understood things deeply. I sat alone and revisited my journey as a simple child, the way I grew up, the way I enhanced my life. This single thought helped me to know myself well.

It was like seeing myself through a mirror. Then I understood how worthy I am, how capable I am. I only know the battles I had played. So why should I keep comparing with someone else? This comparison suffers both mentally and physically. Mentally you miss how big your heart is, and physically, you feel so weak, that this physical and mental disability will ruin your life.

We all have unique timelines and life stories, let’s go with it.
