Sri Lankans celebrate Sinhala and Tamil New Year in high spirits on the 14th of April every year. Generally known as “Sinhala Aluth Avurudda”. The 13th of April is known as “Parana Aurudda” the day before New Year. Both the 13th and 14th are great days with happy vibes. We prepare many sweets before New Year’s Day and share them with neighbors. All Sri Lankans do the rituals at an auspicious time. The New Year is a symbol of peace among other.

It has been two years since I lived in Japan. But wherever you are the traditions and the vibes rooted inside cannot be uprooted. I firmly believe that these upbringings are our core values. So we did not forget to do the rituals. I prepared various sweets in my little kitchen. Everything was perfect and so thrilling of course.

I have changed myself a lot and feel that I have given a new vision and an interpretation of my life, which I had never thought of before. The new year expects a new, productive version of yourself, so I am in it now. I have been trying various fields and I am having a great thrill. I am having a difficult but sweet struggle with a new language, but my improvement makes me alive. I have this beautiful website with me, I grow, walk, cook, read more and practicing observation as an Art.

The monotonous life that I had once has now changed. Living in an unknown land has unleashed my true potential, so I am grateful for my energy as always.

My 2024 New Year table was a much improved one than 2023, I prepared a lengthy set of menus for my New Year Table. I am learning and growing, and I am witnessing it through my own eyes. The most beautiful thing is the greatest soul I have by my side, I am so thankful for every bit he gives me.

Yes, I am witnessing the “survival of the fittest

So I wish happy new year and those who celebrate New Year, have a fabulous one.
