True talks on boarding life, memories emerge

How do you feel about boarding school, is it something like a girls’ hostel in Enid Blyton’s St. Claires series? What about the weekends? Meals? and other stuff.

I had my very first boarding life experience in my early 20s. So I had no rigid rules and regulations most of the time as a school boarding place. Since I was able to go to school by bus daily I did not want to be at a boarding place while I was schooling. I still cannot figure out the actual reason for my staying there. I might want to have that feeling. LOL!! Choosing the boarding life was my free choice of course. So I came up with a boarding place close to the university and it was within walking distance to the university. There were four mates in the room, sharing two bunk beds.

The whole stay at the boarding place was a unique experience for me, all because it was my first time. There,

You miss your parents. They do not see your springtime of life.

Less privacy, you are always open.

The most daring thing was, sharing a bunk bed.

But sometimes it is always nice to be around different people.

In my case, I went to the boarding place for only four to five months. I struggled so much with “homesickness” and never settled well. Before settling there my parents correctly predicted future me. LOL!! So I came back!! I felt being happy and grounded with my family was the best thing I could ever have. The most wonderful thing was, at the end of the day I could do my academic well also. However I am glad myself for taking both decisions of staying and leaving the boarding house. Because all taught me some life lessons!!

How about you? Have you ever experienced “boarding life”
