On weekdays we all are so busy with our to-do lists, my weekend exactly starts on Friday night. So literally my weekend consists of two full days plus Friday night. I want to get the maximum fun out of the weekend. Every weekend, I try to do something new. The novelty always adds beauty to life. Let’s add something new always. Doing the same thing in a “different way” is colorful. We all do cooking same curries in same way. Lets find fun easy and new way, you can present food in a novel manner. “outdoor dinner” will be a great idea.
This Friday my kitchen smells of some Sri Lankan dishes. Pol roti with lunumiris, my husband always falls in love with my version of pol roti. Traditional pol roti is prepared with flour this time I am using flour with rice flour. In addition, sesame was mixed into the dough this time. I thought to add it for extra flavor plus nutrition. Can you see these clay plates? I bought it from Daiso. The clay plate is spacious and easy to clean. And did you see the wooden cover of the fork? Isn’t is beautiful?
Hope you can see the flower-shaped side dish with “lunu miris” which is also from Daiso.
Bread Kottu is a quick recipe. I had three bread slices and some leftover chicken curry. I wanted to cook something new. Something I did not try while in here. So the mission ended up as “Bread kottu”. All done within 20-30 minutes of course. It was super easy. And some sandwiches, the filling was salmon plus potatoes. Most nights we add miso soup for our dinner. My instant Miso paste is always helpful for me.
A perfect meal for the end of a hectic week.
How was your Friday Night? Hope everything is going well.
