There were times I babysat for my sister’s sweet little girl. I felt it was a great compliment and I loved every moment With her. I was a pretty busy character earlier with a heap of stuff on my back so I loved to be with her. Her relaxing smile and nimble walk with small feet were something to adore, worth watching. So it was a kind of getaway from my stuff loaded busy life.
The first days I was wondering how to engage with her. And I thought it would be a total fuss. But didn’t want to say “No” to her. Kids demand love. So I had to deal with it somehow. I won successfully and both I and my sister well benefited. My sister got a bit of relaxation time while I had the most wondrous opportunity to relax my busy mind. With no pressure, I enjoyed my little girl at that time.
Meantime there is some other side of one’s story. Many Asian countries including Sri Lanka I experienced parents are registered for babysitting on behalf of their children. Full time babysitting may not be easy and some oppose to do so. None can blame for that. Some love for that at bottom and some are not. Obviously normal. We all love freedom, leisure time, talk to own mind. Each have their own limitations, expectations and dreams still in the queue. Not completed yet.
When I was talking on this with one of my friends, she said, “As adults we choose to have children. Our parents spent their life for us. They are under no obligation to sacrifice their full time for their grandchildren. We have to learn boundaries and need to teach our children to respect others boundaries too” What a thought with great wisdom!!
No judgments at all. All are born free and free for their desires!!
