When I was referring to my yearbook for 2024 (hope you can remember) always comes into my mind is, Is self-reliance worthy of practice? Is it possible to practice to the letter? Sometimes we want to remain as a solid rock unwavering and steady. One might see it as a noble virtue to be practiced. Self-reliance can be a huge power, a superpower. And it came to my mind that a saying, I have heard somewhere at some point “even the most courageous man /woman needs a shoulder to lean on.” If so can self reliance 100% practical?
Since we are in a society very much seems to value extrovert. How far can we go this journey, by our own fuel is questionable. My survival doesn’t depend on my abilities all the time, I need external support. There are times both you and I feel flat. So we need a guide and a good exposure from our inner circle. Because we are “dependents” either directly or indirectly we need external support, that is how human being was designed.
Talks with partner and my family overwhelms me. What a pleasure? I still need to share after a busy day, i still need a encouraging good vibes around me. I am so meaningful while I am blessed with best, I say!! My thoughts are more fruitful when I am filled with positive various thinkings. The whole system is designed for self-dependent not for self-reliance. It teaches us the value of being kind to one another. Life is too short and it is so beautiful. Self dependence is all about this beauty, isn’t it?
“Attachment” theory
This theory of attachment is something always bound to human beings. Babies are born with a biological need to be physically close to an adult for survival and protection. They are dependent on adults both physically and mentally. Like that the “attachment” or “depending on” ones is a natural thing of mankind. We are different from the beasts, they need no such attachment. They are designed for “being independent” The attachment we have built up teaches us how relationship work and their feeling about them. The point where the concept of humanity pops up. The greatest thing of the human civilisation.
Wonderful thing!!
But I have to say, there are times you value self-reliance. Admit it. It increases our positive feelings and works as a driving force in personal growth and development. For a free lifestyle it is better to balance both carefully, isn’t it? Who would second this? Do you have any more thoughts? Love to hear
