I hope you can remember my story on language learning, part one.
Life is not beautiful at all when you are not in a position to reveal yourself truly. A thousand things to tell, loads of feelings need to convey, but still you keep silent. I know that feeling. I feel you! Be patient, and let’s try our best.
In my case, I began my journey alone since Day one. I referred to a Sinhala YouTube channel, watched anime, talked to myself with the handful of words I knew, and practiced really hard, yes! You heard correctly! Practiced Hard!
But still, when I start talking with a native speaker, I feel dumb, and the right word does not come to the right place. Before our sweet boy was born, I used to go to the park or outside frequently, it was a good opportunity. A good field for practicing. I got a chance to talk with native speakers in the park.
In this write-up, this is what I highlight!
When learning a language, mingling with the society is the prime. Whatever you practice inside your four walls, it is not enough. I am not saying that it is 100% useless, but practical aspect is a must.
But now I am not free as before, because I am taking care of our sweet little boy. I hardly get time to time to go out or practice hands-on activities. Still, we both manage to find time to go outside and stay connected with the world.
Let’s meet up with another chapter of my language learning journey.
P.S.- I have to say again and again, I am an infant to the language. Still learning! This is just my personal experience, if you are interested in the journey I am riding on, this is how I am doing!
